We performed a tribute to Mercury on April 20 of 1992 , in Wembley Stadium , London . Among the guest artists were Annie Lennox , David Bowie , Def Leppard , Elizabeth Taylor , Elton John , Extreme , George Michael , Guns N 'Roses , Ian Hunter , Lisa Stansfield , Liza Minnelli , Metallica , Mick Ronson , Robert Plant , Roger Daltrey , Spinal Tap, Tony Iommi and Zucchero , along with the three remaining members of Queen, playing some of the biggest hits of the band. The concert is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as "the most star-studded benefit concert rock". was raised for more than £ 20 million to charity for the Mercury Phoenix Trust, an AIDS awareness and fund education established by the members of the group and their manager, Jim Beach.  concert was attended by 72,000 people and was seen on television by billions of viewers around the world.
